About us

Fondazione Arcadia is an independent foundation created with the aim of rediscovering, re-evaluating and increasing the knowledge of musical heritage of the most significant Italian authors of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth century. It is based in Milano.
Fondazione Arcadia is a nationally recognized non-profit organization.

The foundation

      • promotes and manages the vocal and instrumental ensemble Accademia d’Arcadia
      • promotes musicological research, publishes critical editions of Italian 17th and 18th century music (see Catalogue).
      •  elaborates thematic catalogues, organizes  conferences and symposiums.

The Scientific Boards direct and coordinate the activities of research and publication.

Activities

Musicological
The critical editions are published in the series Musiche italiane del Seicento and Musiche italiane del Settecento, in collaboration with the Società Italiana di Musicologia. 
The editions are publishe by LIM Editore – Lucca and is edited by our Editorial Boards.

Musical
The foundation has created the ensemble Accademia d’Arcadia
The group varies from 6 to 30 elements.
In 2019 a young vocal ensemble has been added to the instrumental ensemble.
Both groups are under the artistic direction of Alessandra Rossi Lürig.

The Foundation is non-profit, and is legally recognized on a national level.
